ATLANTA – As Senator Loeffler, Governor Kemp, and other leaders across Georgia work together to deliver aid, resources, and assistance for Georgia’s families, Doug Collins has unapologetically trashed their efforts. He’s collecting his Congressional paycheck – more than $174,000 a year – but has refused to lift a finger for his constituents and the people of Georgia.
“While Governor Kemp and Senator Loeffler are working to deliver relief for those impacted most by COVID-19, career politician Doug Collins is doing what he does best – nothing,” said Communications Director Stephen Lawson.
“Senator Loeffler is leading the effort at every turn to fight for emergency funding, secure critical resources, and advocate for Georgia’s families and businesses. She’s even donated her paycheck and made personal contributions to those who are suffering the most. And while Georgians suffer, Doug is kicking back, collecting a paycheck, and taking political cheap shots.
“When Doug was first elected to office, 15 years ago, constituents expected him to be there in times like these. Instead, Doug Collins is the highest paid keyboard warrior in the Peach State.
“This pandemic has shown Georgia voters who the real leaders are in this state. Obviously, career politician Doug Collins is not one of them.”
Alongside President Trump, Governor Kemp, and other leaders at the frontlines, Senator Loeffler has fought for and won: $6.7 billion in Paycheck Protection Program loans for Georgia businesses, nearly $800 million for Georgia hospitals, $411 million for Georgia airports, and $105 million for Georgia schools. She has tirelessly advocated for Georgia’s rural communities, Georgia’s farmers, Georgia’s elder population, Georgia’s small businesses, and Georgia’s faith-based organizations. She has donated her senatorial paycheck to charity and continues to make personal contributions to those in need, including a recent $1 million donation to Phoebe Putney Hospital.
