Sen. Kelly Loeffler Announces Legislation to Begin Implementing USA RISE Plan

First two pieces of legislation deliver relief for families and communities impacted by COVID-19

ATLANTA—Today, political outsider and conservative businesswoman Kelly Loeffler announced the rollout of two pieces of legislation that begin to implement her USA Restoring and Igniting the Strength of our Economy, or USA RISE plan. The first, the Working Families Childcare Act (WFCA) expands flexibility for families by increasing the amount parents can contribute to Dependent Care Cafeteria Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Sen. Loeffler also introduced the Limiting Infant Fatality and Empowering Nonprofit Organization (LIFE NOW) Act that allows larger non-profits such as YMCAs and faith-based organizations to receive Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and explicitly excludes abortion providers from the program. Sen. Loeffler will be introducing additional legislation to implement the core pillars of the plan in the coming weeks.

“Today, I’m proud to announce legislation that will begin implementing my USA RISE plan to reignite our economy,” said Senator Loeffler. “Specifically, we must ensure our families, communities and faith-based organizations have the funding and flexibility to rebound from this crisis. It’s also critical that we begin shifting our supply chains away from China and back to the U.S. and empower job creators to invest in America. I will continue fighting to deliver results for Georgians and ensure we get our economy back on track quickly and safely.”

The four pillars of the USA RISE Plan include:

  • Made in the USA: Business, Supply Chains & Infrastructure that Works
  • Grown in the USA: Feeding, Clothing & Connecting Americans
  • Hiring in the USA: Sustaining Employment & Small Business
  • Families in the USA: Supporting Healthy Lives & Families
