SENATOR LOEFFLER FOCUSED ON SOLUTIONS TO COMBAT COVID-19

ATLANTA—Senator Kelly Loeffler is continuing to focus on solutions to combat COVID-19 in the state of Georgia. Loeffler is working with President Trump, Governor Kemp, and officials on the federal, state, and local level to raise public awareness, mobilize resources, and keep Georgia families safe.

“As we continue to combat COVID-19, the safety and health of all Georgians remains our top priority,” said Senator Loeffler. “While there are still significant challenges ahead, I want Georgians to know that we are working around the clock to meet the needs of families and communities throughout our state. From strengthening partnerships with the private sector to helping local leaders connect with state and federal resources, I am looking out for the health and economic strength of our state and our country.”

Senator Loeffler has taken the following actions regarding COVID-19:

  • Attended briefing at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with President Trump to hear directly from doctors working at the front line to combat the coronavirus
  • Voted for an $8.3 billion supplemental funding bill to provide additional funding to public health agencies to fight the coronavirus
  • Announced $14.7 million in funding for Georgia public health agencies to support their response and containment efforts
  • Worked with the Department of Health and Human Services to improve conditions for quarantined individuals at Dobbins Air Force Base
  • Introduced the Preventing Essential Medical Device Shortages Act of 2020 to prevent essential medical device shortages during a public health emergency or epidemic
  • Participated in Governor Kemp’s Georgia Task Force call on Monday to update delegation on actions taken and share updates from office moving forward
  • Hosted statewide call with county leaders and city officials in partnership with the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia and the Georgia Municipal Association to update local counterparts on coronavirus efforts
